Over the course of the past few months, working with RDB & Nindy Kaur has been a dream come true – as it would be for any publicist. Not only are they one of the most internationally accepted and known artists, but also they are four of the most amazing people you would ever have the opportunity to meet. I never thought that what once started off as a fluke interview with Manj of RDB would lead to entering the official RDB circle. But with patience & hard work, I learned that good things are bound to happen. But enough of that – let’s get into the meat of this story! So on Friday, April 24th, 2009, RDB’s very own Manj & Nindy Kaur, along with Jess Tooray of Dholnation, came to New Jersey for their pre-album launch party & concert! Two albums are expected to release this summer. The first and most anticipated is RDB’s album titled “Worldwide,” followed by Nindy Kaur’s self-titled debut album.
But back to this event – and may you note, it was NOTHING less than spectacular! The crowd was pumped by the time 11 PM was rolling around and they were eagerly awaiting the arrival of RDB & Nindy Kaur. Before the crowd knew it, RDB & Nindy Kaur arrived at the venue pumped and ready to perform! As you know, no RDB concert is complete without one of their most popular and internationally known songs as the opening track – “Singh is Kinng”!

Indy Sagu has been working on the Bhangra scene for nearly nine years. His album The Debut, launched his career in spectacular form (2001). In 2004, he released his second album, Indystructable, furthering him as a household name in the U.K. and abroad. Despite having established himself as a producer, this time around he is hoping to break the mould and this album could well be the gateway to that haven. 2008 bought Indy his third installment to the Bhangra industry; the album titled Reincarnated released worldwide through iTunes, and again showcases his talent as a music producer, as well as, his ability to fuse music from East & West with his own twist. This has bought much interest from around the globe furthering his grip in this music market.
DJ-ing & producing remixes since the age of 17, this young man has been influenced by personal experiences, like all good artists. He bought his first set of turntables before age 16; his influences vast and closer to home than one would imagine. At an early age, Sagu learnt to play the dholki and tabla from his father. Now owning his own professional music studio, as well as, record company (www.lioncorerecords.com), he’s established a firm foothold in this ever changing music industry.
Since picking up his award for BBC Best Newcomer 2003, Sagu has concentrated on the production of sound and has spent time learning percussion with the view to bring new sounds and flavors for everyone. Recently Indy Sagu was down in New Jersey for a ‘wicked’ (as they would say in the U.K.) performance with RDB so yo know I had to snag my interview right away!

Kajol & Kareena first shared the screen together in the acclaimed film Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham. Karan Johar then took Kajol and placed her opposite Shahrukh Khan in the film My Name is Khan. Now Johar is working on yet another big Bollywood project.
Not only will this be a re-make of a famous Hollywood film, but sources have confirmed that he’s even bought the rights to this movie!

RajStar (a/k/a Raj Makhija) is a freelance music producer, composer, sound engineer, songwriter and musician based out of New York and Mumbai. He has been called the “next big movement” from America, with a fresh sound described as Timbaland meets AR Rahman.
RajStar was always involved with music growing up in New Jersey around a musical family as his mother sang in a traditional Indian style and his father played Tabla, an Indian percussion instrument. In addition to this, playing bass guitar and guitar in and out of school bands (i.e. marching band, jazz ensemble, percussion ensemble, out of school jazz programs, etc.) gave him a unique blend of musical sensibilities. He became interested in recording and composing music in the 7th grade when he bought himself a 4-track cassette recorder and began making songs.

Jay Sean is hitting the music market hard and won’t let anyone OR anything get in his way. He’s signed a deal with Cash Money Records, releasing his album here in the States, will be working with the infamous Lil’ Wayne and was just featured on Birdman’s track “Written On Her.”
I don’t think that anything can be said about this guy except for the fact that he’s making moves faster than anyone else in this scene. It looks like Jay Sean is on a takeover and he’s been successful thus far.
Everyone is eagely waiting the release of his track with Grammy-winner Lil’ Wayne and it’s just a matter of quietly waiting till the track drops. In the meantime, be sure to grab a listen to “Written On Her.”
The collabo is one that I, honestly, would never have thought of! Jay & Birdman have showed what kind of magic can be done inside the studio! If you already haven’t, be sure to listen to this track. The production is is tight, the vocals are awesome…simply put, it’s on hell of a track!
Let us know what you think of the song as well. Also, who else do you think Jay would sound good with for a future collabo?! We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Rapping is their forte, and dancing, well…it’s something that they’ve just recently become introduced to! Well in case you were wondering who I’m talking about, it’s artists known by the names: Hard Kaur & Lil’ Kim.
Both these talented ladies are Hip-Hop artists in their respective communities, but besides that, they are both contestants on two of the most watched shows in the American & Indian community: Dancing With the Stars and Jhalak Dhikla Ja.
When Kaur and Kim began on this show, the only knowledge they had of dancing is what their choreographers would have them do for their music videos – and when you’re a rapper, you know there isn’t a lot of dancing involved! But both of these ladies were determined from the get-go, to strut their stuff and make it known that they CAN dance!
Both contestants have attained some of the highest scores possible by the judges, and have broken free from their shells! Last week Hard Kaur showed off her dance skills as she graced the dance floor with an amazing performance to one of the hardest dances possible – paso doble! But she got some high scores from the judges and that’s what been keeping her in the game thus far…not to mention that all her fans are calling and sending texts for her!
Lil’ Kim, though she might have had a few bumps on the way (cough, cough…wardrobe malfunction), we won’t be the ones to hold that against her. Just the other day she performed an awesome dance to the Tango and her partner wasn’t a ‘womanizer,’ that night because it seemed like Kim was calling all the shots!
So I wanted to ask the readers of Bravura Artist, if Lil’ Kim & Hard Kaur were to have…

The chemistry between Dev Patel and Freida Pinto was obvious to anyone who saw that kiss at the end of the movie – and of course, when they were walking the Red Carpet at the Oscars, Patel was surely at Pinto’s side the entire night!
Of course, as any hit Hollywood flick, Patel and Pinto were right away rumored to be dating one another – and I guess that’s just something that comes with the territory of fame. But it seems like these rumors might just be true!
Patel and Pinto were recently seen cuddling each other in a romantic lunch date in Israel – hmmm…that’s where Freida is shooting for one of her films called Miral.

Is it a mistake to skip the morning breakfast? It is a good mistake or bad mistake? Well one of the biggest nutritional mistakes that many people make is skipping the breakfast meal, which is the first meal of the day. There are many reasons why individuals do this and the reasons are endless. Some skip because they are too busy and don’t have time to prepare something. Some believe that by skipping morning breakfast, calories will be saved from the meal which will help them with weight loss. There are also those that just don’t appeal for breakfast foods.

Chapel Hill’s very own Anoop Desai was determined to make waves during his time on American Idol, and he certainly did that. With comments such as “you just managed to go from zero to hero,” from Cowell himself, Desai was, undoubtedly, very much liked by the judges. As all result shows, Desai was placed into the bottom three contestants, but this time, he wasn’t saved, as he was part of a double-elimination.
Desai made history on Idol when he was the first contestant to be pulled onto Idol in a special Top 13 contestants. Coming from a singing background of UNC’s very own a’capella group, Clef Hangers, it was certain that he was going to rock the stage during each performance.
And that’s just what Anoop did!
Anoop’s last performance was during Disco Night, when he performed “Dim The Lights.” After that performance Paula said, “No one can deny how beautiful your vocals were,” while Kara added, “It sounded like it could be on the radio.” Simon, as always, was one to rain on someone’s parade when he said, “That was mediocre at best.”
But it was during the song “Caught Up,” when Randy told Anoop that he, “definitely picked up [his] swagger.” While Simon was Simon and said, “You came over as a ‘wannabe’.”
But who listens to Simon anyways
Truthfully speaking, it was Anoop’s fans who brought him into the Top 7 and they are the ones we should be listening to!
Shawuille of Spring Valley High School said, ”I’m starting to believe American Idol is rigged. There is no way that someone with such dedicated fans, enormous talent, and such a beautiful personality, could have been eliminated. We will be there every step of the way to support him in the future. He was…

Refractive surgery for vision correction has made many significant advances since its start as radial keratotomy. The concept was first used in the early 1960’s by Sato in Japan. However, the original procedure did not work for most people. It is the earliest form of vision correction surgery. Over time in the 1970’s the procedure was corrected by the Russian, ophthalmologist Fyodorov and it was performed in the United States of America in 1978.
Today, several different options exist to help the majority people who wear glasses or contact lenses reduce their dependence on their corrective lenses. Refractive surgery is mostly elective and cosmetic. However, most people today are depending on the laser vision correction procedure to correct their vision.

Last year, Bravura Artist released their first mixtape, “Forces of Nature,” which was a compilation of original production and remix tracks by some of the best urban Desi talent from our generation. This year Bravura Artist is releasing “Forces of Nature: The Sequel,” featuring artists such as Ajaxxx, DJ Desiplaya of Xplicit Desi Vibes, RajStar of Soul Tap Records, and the biggest names in the Bhangra scene, RDB & Nindy Kaur.
To give you an inside look at “Forces of Nature: The Sequel,” one of the tracks is Ajaxxx’s latest release, Ringa Ringa Riddim, which has been re-produced by Gup-E of the UK. In this track, Gup-E carefully takes Rahman’s Bollywood-based track, flips it, and gives it a very tasteful flavor of Hip-Hop. Another track featured on this release is the Kabhi Kabhi Aditi (RajStar Murder Mashup), in which RajStar has taken A.R. Rahman’s inspiring track about friendship, life & relationships and added a club-twist to it. With catchy reggae rhythms alongside the faint strings of an acoustic guitar, RajStar grabs your attention from the start of this track.
Finally, internationally acclaimed artists, RDB & Nindy Kaur are also appearing on this release. After making a second home for themselves in Bollywood, they’ve recently put out some exclusive releases. One of RDB’s exclusive tracks on this release is the Sadi Gali (Official Remix), which has been done by RDB’s friends Mixtabishi and S.S. Johal from Australia. It also features their Aussi-MC J-SKY.
