ArtistsRDB & Nindy Kaur Rock New Jersey
Over the course of the past few months, working with RDB & Nindy Kaur has been a dream come true – as it would be for any publicist. Not only are they one of the most internationally accepted and known artists, but also they are four of the most amazing people you would ever have the opportunity to meet. I never thought that what once started off as a fluke interview with Manj of RDB would lead to entering the official RDB circle. But with patience & hard work, I learned that good things are bound to happen. But enough of that – let’s get into the meat of this story! So on Friday, April 24th, 2009, RDB’s very own Manj & Nindy Kaur, along with Jess Tooray of Dholnation, came to New Jersey for their pre-album launch party & concert! Two albums are expected to release this summer. The first and most anticipated is RDB’s album titled “Worldwide,” followed by Nindy Kaur’s self-titled debut album.
But back to this event – and may you note, it was NOTHING less than spectacular! The crowd was pumped by the time 11 PM was rolling around and they were eagerly awaiting the arrival of RDB & Nindy Kaur. Before the crowd knew it, RDB & Nindy Kaur arrived at the venue pumped and ready to perform! As you know, no RDB concert is complete without one of their most popular and internationally known songs as the opening track – “Singh is Kinng”!
“Singh is Kinng,” as many know, is from the super-hit movie Singh is Kinng. The song was pictured on the star of the film, Akshay Kumar. It didn’t only feature RDB in the video, but the track & video also featured Hip-Hop artist & Grammy-nominee Snoop Dogg! Did someone say ‘making big moves’ ?! (Fun Fact: RDB is the first group of Indian artists to collaborate with a mainstream artist for a Bollywood film!) Check out performance to this song from their pre-album launch concert below!
But Singh is Kinng wasn’t the first Bollywood project that RDB created music for. This immensely talented group of brothers made their Bollywood debut in yet another super-hot movie better known as Nasmate London. The track that RDB did for this flick was ‘Rafta Rafta.’ (Fun Fact #2: Not only does the album for the film feature the original version of the song, but there’s also an official ‘Rafta Rafta’ remix too!) As much as I love the original and more romantic version of the song, I can’t help but to keep singing “…rafta rafta rafta rafta rafta…” for a billion more times in the remix version, especially when Manj is on stage singing! With that said, check out the video to ‘Rafta Rafta’ below from their concert!
But Manj of RDB wasn’t the only one who was captivating the audience with his amazing vocals. RDB’s newest (and coolest member of RDB if I must say so myself) Nindy Kaur was also at Manj’s side singing away. (Fun Fact #3: Nindy is also the wife of Manj!) Whenever I get the chance to see Nindy perform live, I always wait for her song ‘Dil Mera Legiya.’ You can see the passion on her face and feel it through her voice as well she’s singing. The beat is killer and once you add Tooray on the dhol, it’s a done deal! Check out the performance to this song below!
Recently RDB worked on yet another Bollywood project. It was for Aftab Shivadani’s recent release, Aloo Chaat. The two songs for this movie which RDB & Nindy Kaur did were ‘Aloo Chaat’ (featured in the end credits of the movie) and ‘Boliyan’ which was sung by Nindy Kaur. (Fun Fact #4: Aloo Chaat was Nindy Kaur’s debut in Bollywood.)
But the one thing that RDB is always known to do is mix it up (and I’m not just talking about some ‘aloo chaat’ haha)! Recently RDB has been releasing some exclusive tracks (which I suggest you go and download, haha), and one of them was ‘Par Laga Dhe Veh (4 Minutes)’ by Nindy Kaur. I think Nindy definitely took the crowd by surprise when the DJ dropped this track and she started to sing! All I’ve got to say is that Nindy is bringing ‘sexy back’ with this track so enjoy the video of her performance below!
I’m going to end with one quick note that two of my most favorite songs by RDB are ‘Sadi Gali’ and ‘Aaja Mahi.’ Both of these songs are the most popular and extremely loved songs by RDB. There’s not much that can be said to give justice to these songs – they are upbeat and danceable, and that’s just scratching the surface. Both tracks are so infectious that once you hear them, you’ll be humming them all day long! Check out the videos to their performances of these songs below and you’ll see why people love these tracks!
All I’ve got to say is, RDB & Nindy Kaur invaded New Jersey and left people wanting more. Everyday, I receive a new text message or Facebook message asking me when their albums are releasing. All I say is sit back and enjoy the ride kids, RDB & Nindy Kaur are here to stay! As for the albums, it’s only a matter of weeks till everyone gets their hands on these long-awaited masterpieces! Make sure you join RDB’s Facebook Fanpage along with Nindy’s Facebook Page. And if you haven’t already, you can become their friends on MySpace (RDB & Nindy Kaur) and follow them on Twitter (RDB & Nindy Kaur).
Everyone from RDB (yes everyone….Kuly, Surj, Manj, and Nindy) thank you all for your support throughout the years! It’s awesome to have such ardent fans as yourselves! Make sure you also keep it locked on www.RDBTV.com and www.NindyKaur.com!
This is T signing off! I’ll be back soon ![]()
