EntertainmentSuper Hit Kambakht Ishq
You know me, I’m always at the latest Bollywood premiere, or interviewing with an amazing & cool celeb! Recently I had the chance to attend a press conference for Akshay Kumar’s most long awaited film of 2009 — “Kambakht Ishq.” [Videos coming soon from the press conference

With a star-studded cast from Bollywood and Hollywood, there was no doubt that the amazing Sabbir Khan has done it again. Starring none other than Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, including international stars like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, Brandon Routh and Holly Vancee…Khan has done what no Bollyoow director has done before.
He’s crossed borders, and we’re not talking about just filming in another country!
In March of 2008, Nadiadwala announced to the press that K.I. “would be the first Indian film to be shot within Universal Studios.” From Universal Studios, and including amazing shots across Los Angeles, including the Kodak Theatre, the film crew moved to Venice, Italy and then Mumbai to complete the shoot!
Not only will this film take you on the journey of Kumar and Kapoor’s characters, but also a journey across the world!
The music is one of the most standout aspects of the film. Anu Malik was named the lead music producer for the film. And it was during 2008, it was reported that Carmen Electra was going to appear in a song (by Malik) for the film with Kapoor; however, Electra was soon replaced and in stepped one of the biggest Bhangra names in the world — RDB & Nindy Kaur. Move over Anu Malik…because RDB & Nindy Kaur’s song “Om Mangalam,” became an instant hit as soon as the song his the radio and TV stations across the world. According to Nadiadwala, ‘Om Mangalam,’ was “not a music video but a song that we will use as an integral part of the film. It will occur close to the film’s interval. It will also be the first promotional song.”
And that was exactly true. Whenever you turned on the TV and saw the promo for the movie, there you are, listening to and watching RDB & Nindy Kaur! Call me bias if you want, but I can’t help myself…whenver you heard the song, it’s instantly stuck in your head! But enough about the music, let’s get into the nitty-gritty on the movie itself!

Eros Entertainment won’t let us embed the the video, but def. check it out on YouTube
Kumar plays a male chauvinist-pig who thinks women are good for two things only…I think you know where this is headed! And Kapoor plays a supermodel who thinks that men self-centered pigs! Now that you know this, I def. think you know where the movies headed! As Akshay said in the press conference, “leave your brains at home,” when you go to see this movie. It’s nothing but pure comedy, laughs, and keeps you entertained all throughout. From amazingly shot scenes, to danceable songs, to a star-studded cast, there’s nothing lacking from this movie!
I can sit here and talk about it all day long, but why spoil anything for you! Check Fandango to see when it’s playing at a cinema near you and watch it! While you add K.I. to your 4th of July plans, I’ll be listening to “Om Mangalam,” in the car and around home…..”Main to jantar se hi darta hu, bass pyaar ka mantar karta hu, inn chakkar mein naa padta hu, hai rabba yeh kya ho gaya? Kya pyaar kiya kambakht ishq, main to haar gaya kambakht ishq, mujhe maar gaya kambakht ishq, hai rabba yeh kya ho gaya?…You’re my baby, but you are driving me crazy…you’re my baby, but you’re drivin’, drivin’, drivin’….” ? ?
