The Bachanans Visit Oprah

Was it just me, or did you notice that during the Oprah Winfrey show or even the David Letterman we saw how Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai was giggling a lot more than she should at the comments of the host. Prahlad Kakkar, who is the now-Mrs. Bachchan’s mentor, stated to the press after both shows that, “her giggling in interviews is a sign of her nervousness.”

Hmm…what could she be nervous about?! Ash has not only been on these two shows, but also paid the lovely Martha Stewart a visit as well. Ash is part of the Valentine’s Day line-up at the day-time show, and she featured in a segment that had Martha Stewart teaching her and the audience how to make candy treat cups. Ash made this appearance while she was in New York City for the premiere of her Hollywood flick The Pink Panther 2.

And it looks like she’s all geared up to head back to Oprah now!

Bachchan has always been applauded for being an international star. She’s always walking the Red Carpet at the Cannes, and also has been inducted into the famous Madam Tussads – and not to mention, her numerous mainstream TV features! And as I said before, Ash will be coming back to the Oprah Winfrey’s show!

But this time, she’s brought along her lovely husband too! Last week they flew into Chicago to film the show which is to air on September 14, 2009!

Let’s see how things pan out this time!

Bollywood Tribute to MJ

Today is the 51st birthday of King of Pop, Michael Jackson and Bollywood is all geared up to pay tribute to the legend with a music video. The abrupt death of the legend on June 25th this year drowned the whole world into grief.

It was Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s idea to make a music video and for that he has brought together biggest personalities from the industry. The music video is titled as ‘Make it Large – A tribute to Michael Jackson’ and singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, KK, Shaan and Vishal-Shekhar have lent their voice for it. However actors Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Anoushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and cricketer Yuvraj Singh have shared their testimonials to the Jackson in the video. It also features Prabhu Deva dancing in MJ’s style.

Vishal has written lyrics for the song. He said, “The entire world was upset about his demise and so were Shekhar (Ravjiani) and I. We happened to meet Shah Rukh and he also expressed his thought about doing something that would be suitable the stature of the man who entertained us for decades. This is how the idea around the music video was born.”

The video would be launched today, 29th August on 51st birthday of Michael. It will be broadcasted on all the music channels for a day only. However it is available on SRK’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment and Vishal-Shekhar’s website for free download.

Vishal later added, “The video wasn’t created for making money. It’s a tribute and I am sure there are millions out there who would want to grab a copy of the song for themselves. We are more than glad to share our sentiments with the rest of the…

Britney Back on the Rader

Pop ‘Princess’ Britney Spears is back on the radar with her latest track ‘Radar,’ (featured in the Candie’s ad for Kohls), as well as, her brand new bikini-body!

Recently Spears released her latest video “Radar,” off her album Circus.

Now guys (and girls), don’t get me wrong! This is far from your typical Britney video that we’re used to seeing! The ‘memorable’ dance moves have been replaced by a story-line. However, the story, to be quite honest, isn’t all that interesting — or at least many don’t think so! In the vid, Spears is with a polo player, until she spots another player she likes, and runs off with him — sounds a little similar to real-life Maybe…maybe not! Rolling Stone’s writer Daniel Kreps said that the video felt, ” like they took a 30-second commercial for one of Spears’ perfumes and turned it into a four-minute music video.”

Well, I’ll leave your opinion up to you! Check out Spears video below:

Miss Universe 2009

For the first time, the Miss Universe winner was a back-to-back event! Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, won the Miss Universe 2009 beauty pageant held in Nassau, Bahamas.

Fernandez, 18, was passed the Crown to the title Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza, who won the competition in 2008. This is the sixth time that Venezuela has won the crown (1979, 1981, 1986, 1996, 2008, and 2009).

The top five contestants were beauties in their own world, including contestants from Dominican Republic, who is first runner-up, followed by Kosovo, Australia, and Puerto Rico.

The judge was a panel of 12-judges, including Andre Leon Talley, the editor-at-large for American Vogue, actor Dean Cain, and supermodel Valeria Mazza.

Celebrity Apprentice star Claudia Jordan and Access Hollywood co-anchor Billy Bush hosted the event, and of course, there was entertainment all throughout the night with performances by rapper Flo Rida, singers David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, and reality star Heidi Montag.
