RDB & Nindy Kaur have taken over everything like there’s no tomorrow. It’s only a matter of time till little kids are taking lunch boxes to school that say ‘Aloo Chaat’ with a picture of RDB or their nominated for an MTV Music Award! Trust me, it’s RDB & Nindy Kaur – anything, and I mean anything, is possible. And they’ve shown just that; if you believe in what you’re most passionate about, you can achieve the impossible.
From touring across the world to four hit songs this year to performing at the biggest wedding in Bollywood, they’ve done that plus more! Now to me, their Kuly, Manj, Surj & Nindy; but to the rest of the world their idols, role models, and celebrities.
In between performing across India and preparing for the holidays, I had the pleasure (as always *wink wink*) to catch up with these amazing musicians for an exclusive interview. For your reading pleasure, I present, one final sit-down with RDB & Nindy Kaur before the New Year!
Wow, you guys have had one heck of a year. Tell us, what was your most memorable moment 2009?
Kuly: As always touring with my brothers and sister in-law…seeing the tracks we’ve been making really light up fans faces…you just cant beat that feeling.
Manj: It has to be touring with the whole family; this includes Anoop, my son. Every time we got onto stage he would just run on and take the show over…he’s absolute nutcase just like his parents…haha!
Surj: For me it has to be the tours in India. It was great fun, and met so many new people.
Nindy: Performances and video shoos are hand-in-hand for me. But I’m going with video shoots. We shot the video for my song Akhiyan…

Internationally acclaimed group, RDB (Kuly, Manj, Surj & Nindy Kaur( have had nothing less than an epic year. When taking their first steps in Bollywood with tracks as Rafta Rafta and Singh is King, these artists have soared to unimaginable heights.
2009 started off with a bang as Nindy Kaur was introduced to Bollywood with two tracks, Aloo Chaat and Boliyaan. Both became instant favorites to fans across the world, especially in India, as these tracks were featured by a few performers on the show ‘Boogie Woogie.’ With the success of their music in ‘Aloo Chaat,’ it was understood that more was to come from this unmatched group. Following Aloo Chaat, their next major hit was Om Mangalam, from the film, ‘Kambaqtht Ishq.’ The track was featured in all the movie promos across the world and landed the #1 position on many Bollywood music charts as well. And if three songs wasn’t enough, RDB have ended the year with one last Bollywood project; they re-composed their worldwide hit, Paisa, for Akshay Kumar’s latest film, ‘De Dana Dan,’ featuring Manak-E. The track has become so successful that it’s held the #1 spot for the past five weeks.
Aside from their Bollywood projects, RDB and Nindy Kaur have been traveling the world, performing for thousands of fans in the US, Canada, UK, Dubai, and India, to say the least. They’ve even took over some of the largest theme parks in the US, over the summer, as RDB & Nindy Kaur were touring, giving away CDs, and meeting their fans. When asked about this experience, Manj stated, “It was great performing in front of all the crowds at the theme parks; plus we got to go on the rides too, haha!”

Super!
Classic!
Awesome!
A Must See!
That’s all that comes to mind after I just saw ‘De Dana Dan.’ Not to mention I saw someone I knew who walked out of the show before me and they were like, “Yo T, that RDB track is killer!” Yes, I know it is! But we’ll talk about that in a little bit!
I don’t even know where to begin about this movie. From the first few opening seconds to the very last minute, it was pure comedy! And obviously before the star-studded cast was even revealed, knowing that it’s a PriyaDarshan flick, starring Akshay Kumar just gives everything away! You’re bound to be amused!
Now onto the huge cast in the film! Akshay Kumar (as you already know), Sunil Shetty, Katrina Kaif [are all in the lead roles], but then you got Johnny Lever, Paresh Rawal, Neha Dhupia, and Sameera Reddy who add to the masti and madness in this film! I can go on forever, but really, each character plays such a vital role and add to the comedy!
And if you’ve never been to Singapore, the movie was shot there and gives you a great look at some places you should visit…especially a certain hotel I’ve decided to stay at when I visit (and I’m not telling you which one…you’ll have to see DDD to find out!)

You know me, I’m always at the latest Bollywood premiere, or interviewing with an amazing & cool celeb! Recently I had the chance to attend a press conference for Akshay Kumar’s most long awaited film of 2009 — “Kambakht Ishq.” [Videos coming soon from the press conference

With a star-studded cast from Bollywood and Hollywood, there was no doubt that the amazing Sabbir Khan has done it again. Starring none other than Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, including international stars like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, Brandon Routh and Holly Vancee…Khan has done what no Bollyoow director has done before.
He’s crossed borders, and we’re not talking about just filming in another country!
In March of 2008, Nadiadwala announced to the press that K.I. “would be the first Indian film to be shot within Universal Studios.” From Universal Studios, and including amazing shots across Los Angeles, including the Kodak Theatre, the film crew moved to Venice, Italy and then Mumbai to complete the shoot!
Not only will this film take you on the journey of Kumar and Kapoor’s characters, but also a journey across the world!

Nindy Kaur, also the wife of acclaimed singer and producer Manjeet Ral of RDB, began singing at the age of 10. Raised in the U.K. and surrounded by the beats and rhythms of Birmingham’s Bhangra bands, she grew up as a child who would save her lunch money to buy every single Bhangra album upon release. Nindy has self-taught herself the art of singing and has spent years developing her vocal skills in both Punjabi and Hindi. Her main goal as an artist is to be true to her culture and reflect that in her music. She has never once forgotten where she’s come from and has kept true to her culture both vocally and personally.
Soon after their marriage, her singing abilities were obvious to Manj; she went on record more with RDB. Nindy instantly became an overnight success, with both the younger and the older generation, both in awe of her captivating and charismatic vocals.
With a debut album upon release, in addition to features on RDB albums and stepping into Bollywood, Nindy Kaur is becoming a bigger international super-star with the start of each new day! She stands as a role model to many aspiring singers and lives thru to the fact that you can achieve anything you want in life if you put your mind and heart into it.
Her voice is like a breath of fresh air and has already created an impressive resume, making her name synonymous to that of her singing talents. She is determined to take this industry by storm and won’t cease until she’s succeeded. During a recent performance, I had the chance to sit down with Nindy and discuss her musical past, present, and future…not to mention the two most amazing men in her…

Pictures India made their entry into the Bollywood industry with the highly-anticipated film, Chandni Chowk to China, alongside one of the most internationally known names in media and entertainment, Warner Brothers. If the release of CC2C wasn’t big enough, Pictures India recently finalized a three-movie deal with People Tree Films, headed by producer Mukesh Talreja and director Nikhil Advani.
Blaise Fernandes, who serves as the Warner Bros. country head, said in a press statement, “the deal would cover co-production and distribution of the three movies - Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai,Chandbhai and Basra.”
Nikhil Advani will be the director for the film Chandbhai, which again stars Akshay along with Vidya Balan. Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai, which is already in production is directed by Milap Zhaveri and stars Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fenandes, and Ruslaan Mumtaz.
Finally, Navdeep Singh is directing Basra, and of course, stars the one and only…Akshay!
I guess we should keep our eyes out for Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai, which is said to be a romantic comedy, as it’s set to release during the Summer of 2009. Adter that we’ll be able to see Chandbhai, which is an emotional drama and finally followed by Basra, a political thriller.

Once a couple creates brilliant on-screen chemistry, the paparazzi is always the first to stat rumors that something is happening between the co-stars in real life. Yes, there’ve been times when these on-screen romances turn into off-screen ones, but most of the time the actors remain as “just good friends.” With 2009 coming in a few weeks, I thought it’d be nice to look at some of the most “talked about” couples…on and off screen!

With all the hype surrounding Akshay Kumar’s latest movie Singh is Kinng, what’s making even bigger headlines is the fact that American Hip-Hop artist Snoop Dogg, is featured on the title track of this movie, alongside UK-based producers RDB. When listening to the track, Snoop starts off his intro with, “Represent that Punjabi,” and then saying, “What up to all my ladies hangin’ out in Mumbai.”
