From the start of the 1^st quarter till the very last second of the 4^th Quarter of Game 6 of the 2008 NBA Finals, the Celtics were determined to win and bring the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy back to Boston, back to its rightful owners – the Celtics were in control of the entire game, playing as if they were down by 40 in the 4^th Quarter, going for every lay-up, scoring every foul shot, and sinking in each three-pointer.

Everyone recalls the Celtics of the past: Cous and Russell and Bird and Hondo and the Chief. They would dig deep, fight for each & every loose ball, and proudly wore their green jerseys.

Today’s Celtics are no different – they are just one win from another NBA title. In a post game interview, Kevin Garnett said, “I can taste it.” 2008 has truly been a “comeback season,” and Boston is showcasing their ‘best of the best’ at the very end.

21 years…that’s how long they’ve waited!

The heated rivalry between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics has been one of many years and one of the most heated in the NBA’s history. Currently the Celtics are leading the Lakers with total championships as they’re up 16 to 14. However, since the retirements of both LA’s Magic Johnson and Boston’s Larry Bird, the rivalry seemed to have simmered down – nonetheless, with young, fresh players such as Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett, it was only a matter of time until this rivalry was to be born again!
